Anodizing

Anodizing - This is the electrolytic oxidation of aluminum and a possibility to control the formation of a protective layer.

When in contact with air, aluminum in its raw appearance reacts with oxygen or weather-related effects.  This leads to the formation of an uncontrollable, often not wanted and decoratively unattractive oxide layer on the surface of the materials.

Protection against corrosion

The surface of the material is converted into an extremely fine-pored, hard and initially colorless oxide layer using an electrochemical process. The layer thickness of this thin oxide layer can vary between 5 and 25 micrometers depending on customer requirements.

The resulting anodization layer offers a reliable protection against corrosion and is therefore particularly suitable for outdoor applications. The high hardness of anodized surfaces results in insensitivity to abrasion and other mechanical influences. This process technology therefore guarantees a long life-cycle of the aluminum.
